Clay Doh works with Blender’s Asset Browser. There is no Addon to install.
HOW TO ADD
- Make sure that you are using Blender 3.4 or above.
- Download the Clay Doh ASSETS file. Note that it is an archive (zipped file).
- Extract its contents and you will get 2 files, .blend and .txt.
- Create a new folder named “Clay Doh” anywhere on your hard drive and put the 2 files inside that folder.
- Now in Blender, go to Edit > Preferences > File Paths and click the ‘+’ button under Asset Libraries.
- In the new window that pops up, navigate to the “Clay Doh” folder you created earlier and press the Add Asset Library button.
HOW TO USE
- In Blender, open an Asset Browser window. (Or change any window to an Asset Browser type using the button at the extreme top-left of each workspace window).
- Once inside the Asset Browser, you will see a slightly bigger drop-down button at the top-left that lets you choose asset libraries. Click on it to see the list of available libraries, and select ‘Clay Doh’ from that list.
- Now you will see all the Clay Doh in the Asset Browser. You can simply drag-n-drop them on your models.
- Everything is sorted in catalogs here, simply drag-n-drop. :)
Material Presets: materials can be dropped onto 3D models.
Shader Nodes: nodes that ****can be drag-n-dropped in the ‘Shader Editor’ window.
Geometry Nodes: nodes that ****can be drag-n-dropped in the ‘Geometry Node Editor’ window.
