NOTE: Komikaze works with Blender’s Asset Browser. It is NOT an addon, it can’t be “installed”.

HOW TO ADD

  1. Make sure that you are using Blender 4.0 or above.
  2. Download the ‘Komikaze 2.x .ZIP’ file and extract its contents (unzip the file). You will get a folder with 2 files inside it (a .blend file and a .txt file). No need to open any of the files.
  3. Place this “Komikaze 2.x” folder anywhere on your hard drive.
  4. Open Blender and go to Edit > Preferences > File Paths and click the ‘+’ button under Asset Libraries.
  5. In the new window that pops up, navigate inside the “Komikaze 2.x” folder and press the ‘Add Asset Library’ button. The folder will seem empty here, but don’t worry, this is how it works.
  6. Click on ‘Save Preferences’ and restart Blender.

HOW TO USE

  1. In Blender, open an Asset Browser window. (Or change any window to an Asset Browser type using the button at the extreme top-left of each workspace window).
  2. Once inside the Asset Browser, you will see a slightly bigger drop-down button at the top-left that lets you choose asset libraries. Click on it to see the list of available libraries, and select ‘Komikaze 2.1’ from that list.
  3. Everything is sorted in catalogs here, simply drag-n-drop. :)

NOTE If you don’t see all the assets, check the Asset Browser’s SEARCH BAR for any unwanted text, and the FILTERS drop-down menu right next to that for any disabled filters.

Komps are nodes that ****can be dropped in the Compositor.

Materials and Modifiers can be dropped onto 3D objects.

Shader Nodes and Color Palettes can be dropped in the Shader Editor.
